Registering for Classes

Spring registration begins on January 22. Students will be rolled over from fall classes unless a drop is submitted. You are responsible to ensure there is no overlap in the classes you select and that you have the ability to consistently attend each class session. Students requesting classes out of grade range will be given last priority. Electronic Add/Drop forms can be found on our website, under the tab Locations/Solano-Napa/Add/Drop Form. Although we try our best to facilitate each registration request, no class is guaranteed. Upon reaching maximum enrollment, a wait list will be started. Once space is available in a class, a student may complete an ADD form. Enrollment is not automatic.

About Classes

Classes are designed for students who want to learn and are excited about being in a group setting for part of their educational program. Class enrollment requires an interest in the topic and positive participation in the group; appropriate behavior and contributions are expected. Please review the options carefully with your student to ensure that your student is excited about participating in the classes you are considering. We strongly encourage you to discuss all aspects of group classes with your student. Remember, these classes are generally not a requirement and if a student is hesitant about attending a class, please discuss other options with your Independent Study Teacher. Also required is a commitment to regular attendance and respect for our class instructors. In addition, independent work done outside of class and/or homework is expected and necessary for many of our classes. Parental support and oversight of this work is expected and an important part of student success.

Arriving at classes, leaving classes, and behavior during classes are critical areas where we need cooperation from students and parents, to ensure student safety and a positive learning environment for all students. We want to communicate a clear set of guidelines and make apparent our need for student cooperation and parent support. Therefore, in addition to the Student Rules for Conduct found in the Parent Student Handbook with which all students are expected to comply, students must also comply with the Class Contract which is signed when registering for classes. If you have questions or concerns regarding the policies and procedures, please do not hesitate to call. We appreciate your support.

Fall Semester Finals

There are no site classes during the week of January 22-25. High school students will be taking their fall semester finals. Please contact your IST to coordinate your exam schedule.
