MONDAY:  This week's feature composer is George Frideric Handel. The feature composition is Menuet from the Water Music. Handel composed this music 270 years ago especially for the King of England, King George I. It was called Water Music because it was first performed at a party King George gave on barges on the River Thames. A newspaper. from that day, July 19, 1717, tells us that "his majesty liked (it) so well, that he caused it to be played three times in going and returning."

TUESDAY: This week's feature composer is George Frideric Handel. The feature composition is Menuet from the Water Music. This music was composed especially for the King of England, King George I. Even if you did not know this, you might have guessed this music was composed for a king because it sounds royal - dignified and majestic. Handel used the horn because he knew no other instrument could make a sound more royal. 

WEDNESDAY: This week's feature composer is George Frideric Handel. The feature composition is Menuet from the Water Music. Handel began his composition, Menuet from the Water Music, with the proud sound of a horn. He used this dignified and majestic instrument to honour the King. Handel was a smart composer because he knew how to make music sound royal. He also knew how to make it interesting to listen to. That's why he wrote the middle section of the Menuet softer and smoother, so it would be a contrast to the first and last sections. 

THURSDAY: This week's feature composer is George Frideric Handel. The feature composition is Menuet from the Water Music. Handel was a smart composer. Do you remember the name of the instrument he used in Menuet to make it sound royal? (Short pause). If you are thinking of the horn, you are right. Handel was a smart composer because he knew how to make music sound royal. He also knew how to make it interesting to listen to. That's why he wrote the middle section of the Menuet softer and smoother, so it would be a contrast to the first and last sections. 

FRIDAY: This week's feature composition is the Menuet from the Water Music. Do you remember the name of the composer? (Short pause). If you are thinking Handel, you are correct. He began his composition with the royal sound of the horn to please the King. Handel thought it was such a good idea, he decided to end the Menuet the same way.
