Recommended Course Planning for High School

The template below shows how all of the PCS graduation and UC/CSU requirements could be met, but we know each plan will be adapted to individual circumstances and unique student interests. Transfer students may have very different course sequences. Students work with their Educational Team to map out a customized course plan that fits their personal and educational goals. Use the 4-Year Grad Planning Document to create a draft.

What are “A-G” requirements?

The University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) require entering freshmen to complete certain courses in high school, commonly known as the "A-G requirements" because of the letter each subject area is assigned.

To be considered for admission to a UC or CSU, high school students must complete a minimum of 15 UC approved college preparatory classes. Students must earn a minimum of a “C” grade in the A-G courses in order for the course to count towards meeting the requirement.
