MONDAY:This week's feature composer is Antonio Vivaldi.The feature composition is the second movement from Concerto for Two Flutes(Cun-CHAIR-toe).This is the second movement of the concerto Vivaldi wrote for two flutes. The othermovements are fast, so Vivaldi composed this movement to be a change, a restful placefor the players and the listeners. 

TUESDAY: This week's feature composer is Antonio Vivaldi.The feature composition is the second movement from Concerto for Two Flutes.Vivaldi chose a slow tempo for this second movement of his concerto for two flutes. Heknew this would make the movement feel restful. Vivaldi added to this peaceful feelingby writing a gentle melody. He designed the melody so the flutes would sometimesimitate each other and sometimes play side-by-side. Vivaldi wrote the melody to be veryplain in some places, but then in other places, he added little decorations. 

WEDNESDAY: This week's feature composer is Antonio Vivaldi.The feature composition is the second movement from Concerto for Two Flutes.Vivaldi wrote a gentle melody for this second movement, a melody that never leaps orjumps. Vivaldi designed his music so that the melody is plain in some places, and justlightly decorated in others. He used the flutes to sometimes imitate each other andsometimes play side-by-side. Vivaldi was a genius with creating soothing music. 

THURSDAY: This week's feature composer is Antonio Vivaldi.The feature composition is the second movement from Concerto for Two Flutes.In this second movement of his concerto for two flutes, Vivaldi wanted a contrast to theother movements which are fast. He chose a restful tempo. Vivaldi wrote a melody thatwas also soothing. He used the flutes to imitate each other and to play side-by side.Vivaldi decided only the cello and harpsichord would accompany the two flutes. Hesaved the full orchestra for the more vigorous first and third movements. 

FRIDAY: This week's feature composition is the second movement from Concerto for Two Flutes.Do you remember the name of the composer? (Short pause). If you are thinking ofAntonio Vivaldi, you are correct. Vivaldi designed this second movement of his concertofor two flutes as a restful change from the fast and furious first and last movements. Healso created a beautiful, flowing melody that winds from flute to flute. It's as if the flutesare two friends just quietly talking and enjoying one another's company.
