About

I began teaching at Pathways Charter School in 2020.  My educational background includes teaching grades K-4 in traditional classroom settings for 17 years, substituting K-12, tutoring K-8, and coaching 3-12.  I have a BA in Liberal Studies and a multiple subject teaching credential from CSU, Sacramento. I then earned a MA degree in Education (Psychology) from the University of London Institute of Education which allowed me to learn about education around the world.  I am very interested in learning about learning.  Why do we teach the way we do? How do we meet individual students’ needs?  I have taught in California, England, and Luxembourg and have learned so much about diversity and inclusion along the way.  I have taught in public, private, and international settings.

I am excited to be teaching at Pathways Charter School as an independent study teacher and a classroom teacher for middle school ELA/SS as well as ELA for grades 2-3.  I enjoy the variation of teaching and getting to know each student as an individual learner.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and two teenage children, traveling (when it’s safe), reading, cooking, hiking, and going to the beach in any weather.  I’m always interested in learning about new places to take walks.
